Bahadur Institute of management science

Project Background : Mysore University, Manasa Gangotri wanted to add a Management science college to their campus. A particular space was selected to set up the campus.

Architecture & Planning : The land allocated had trees planted at every 30 Sft centre to centre, hence the building was designed keeping in mind to retain the trees as much as possible. The plan was developed linearly with a central corridor and facilities arranged on either side. There was also a need for a small seminar hall which would serve for the college as well as for public. Seminar hall was brought to front and was connected to the college block with colonnade corridor. The inverted cone shaped columns in the corridor reflect the traditions of buildings of Mysore. The plan houses 2 lecture halls and class rooms situated at the rear end of the building arranged around a class room court. The Administrative block has a waiting lounge with a central double height court. The space between the seminar hall and class room is used as food court with semi-circular staircase overlooking the food court. Food court becomes an activity area and also has a spill over space. The first floor houses computer labs, staff rooms and a huge library with a vault roof having lot of top light.
